We are Liberals seeking to renew our party to defeat Doug Ford. We recognize how important Liberal governments are as positive forces. We want to build a movement capable of regaining the trust of Ontarians and forming the next government.

## Q2. Are you supported by one or more potential leadership candidates?

No. New Leaf Liberals are not supported by, nor affiliated with, any leadership candidate.

## Q3. Why do you want an open leadership contest in 2026?

Doug Ford must be defeated at the next election. We are convinced that the best path to victory against Doug Ford is through a leadership race that attracts a wide range of candidates, helps retain our existing members while gaining new ones, and demonstrates our firm commitment to electing a Liberal government.

## Q4. What does New Leaf Liberals want from the upcoming leadership election?

We are committed to rebuilding the Ontario Liberal Party, regardless of what happens in upcoming leadership elections, to defeat Doug Ford. In our view, this means more active and strong PLAs, the inclusion of new voices within the executive council, and candidates equipped with the best possible tools. We believe that a change at the top of the party will allow us to achieve these goals. Regardless of the outcome of the leadership election, we will continue to advocate for the best possible version of our party, because what matters is forming the next provincial government.
