New Leaf Liberals: A Stronger Ontario Liberal Party to Defeat Doug Ford

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our 'New Leaf Liberals' movement, a grassroots alliance of political advisors, activists, former candidates, and general members of the Ontario Liberal Party seeking to strengthen our party so we can defeat Doug Ford.

The February provincial elections were a crushing defeat for us. Since then, we have been working to build a party that Ontarians can trust in the next election. The goal of our movement is very simple - to be the voice of members who expect better from our party and to work tirelessly to build as strong a movement as possible. Defeating Doug Ford will not be easy and will require a strong, disciplined, and committed Liberal Party.

We believe that a leadership change represents the best way to build this kind of party. The Ontario Liberal Party must increase its financial support to Liberal Associations in each riding and ensure they are better organized so we can run effective campaigns in all 124 ridings in this province.

Our party must expand the provincial council and open the door to diverse perspectives and experiences to better address the concerns of Ontarians. The party must prepare well for the next election as early as possible, with a concrete plan for local nominations by December 2027 so we are not caught off guard again by another early election.

We are a passionate and committed group that wants to defeat Doug Ford's dangerous current Conservative government so it can no longer inflict damage on Ontario. We want the Ontario Liberal Party to rise to this challenge and we want to do our part. We need to build a party that welcomes new ideas with open arms, supports policies designed by its members, and is capable of forming the next government.

We love our party, and our province, and we look forward to getting to work to elect a Liberal government in the next election.
