Hey New Leafer,
This edition of the New Leaf Liberal bi-weekly is a has a bit of a dark theme to it - why? It's representative of how students and young people across Ontario are feeling on the heels of Doug Ford's decision to shift funding our post-secondary institutions onto them .
“You’re picking basket-weaving courses, and there’s not too many baskets being sold out there,” he said, explaining that students should major in subjects leading to in-demand jobs. “You have to invest in your future.” said Premier Doug Ford.
In response, we've seen the Ontario Young Liberals lead our advocacy. Earlier this week, they launched a petition that we are eager to help spread far and wide.
While we've got lots to say on the Leadership Rules released last week (the timeline is definitely not what we wanted), for this email at least; we're focusing on the future of our province - our young people.
