What's Next for New Leaf?
While we head right into the heart of vacation season, we're thinking about how we can continue to advocate for a better, stronger, and fairer Ontario Liberal Party.
This is where you can help!
When we first came together, it was because we knew our party needed real renewal from the ground up - hearing more grassroots voices, more accountability, and a clearer vision to win back the trust of people across Ontario.
Well, the moment we’ve been organizing for is finally here. The leadership race is in full swing, the energy is shifting, and the window to shape where we go next is wide open . We can’t afford to sit on the sidelines.
Here is your quick rundown of where things stand, what’s coming up, and how you can dive in.
The Leadership Race
A leadership race isn't just about choosing a person at the top; it’s about rebuilding our movement at every level. The party has recently announced a slate of critical upcoming events, and we want to see a strong New Leaf presence at every single one .
Whether it's packing the room at a meet and greet, or asking candidates the important questions during debates, your voice matters! The party recently announced the first in their series of candidate meet and greets:
Scarborough – Sunday, July 12, 2026
Sudbury - Tuesday, July 21, 2026
London - Thursday, July 23, 2026
Hamilton - Wednesday, August 12, 2026
Pick at least one upcoming event from the list above and RSVP today.
May 2027 - AGM & Policy Conference
Our upcoming Annual General Meeting & Policy Conference will be the definitive turning point where our party cements its priorities and strategy heading into the next election cycle. This isn't just a weekend of speeches; it is our opportunity to pass bold policies, elect forward-thinking executives, and work on the modern campaign infrastructure we've been advocating for.
We need to start organizing our delegations, riding associations, and policy proposals now to ensure New Leaf principles are baked right into the party’s DNA.
"A political movement is only as strong as the ideas it champions and the people it elevates."
As we look at the leadership race and the road to May 2027, we want every New Leafer to start thinking deeply about two core things:
The Voices We Elevate: Who are the champions across our party - from the north to the southwest, from our organizers to policy experts - whose voices have been left out of the room? How do we build a broader, more inclusive tent that actually looks like Ontario?
The Ideas We Run On: We can't just campaign against the current government; we need to give people a reason to vote for us. What are the bold, modern policy solutions for housing, healthcare, education, and economic growth that will make Ontarians stop and take notice?
